The short version: your files never leave your device, and the little we collect is plain, anonymous usage analytics.

Your files
Every KBWise tool (image compression, resizing, conversion, PDF tools) runs as JavaScript inside your browser, on your device. Files you select are opened locally, processed locally, and saved locally. They are never uploaded to our servers or any third party. There is no upload code on the tool pages. We have no access to your files at any point and no ability to recover, view, or store them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people use the site and which tools help, by counting page views and anonymous tool events (for example: “a compression completed” or “a target couldn’t be reached”). These events contain no file contents, no file names, and no personal information. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data under Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser’s cookie controls, and visitors in regions that require it (such as the EEA and UK) are shown a consent message first.
Contact & waitlist forms
If you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email, and message by email and use it only to reply. If you join the Pro waitlist, your email address is stored on our own server (not emailed to a third party, not added to any marketing list) for the single purpose of notifying you once, if and when Pro launches. We don’t share addresses with anyone or send anything beyond what you asked for. To be removed, use the contact form.
Server logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps standard access logs — IP address, requested page, timestamp, browser type — for security and operations. These rotate automatically and are not used for profiling. This website is served from servers in the United States (North Carolina).
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site uses Google AdSense, and its code loads on our pages. Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com. Visitors in regions that require it (such as the EEA and UK) are shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are used.
Two things advertising never changes here: your files still never leave your device — ad code runs on the page, not in the tools, and has no access to files you process — and ads will never be styled or placed to imitate download buttons.
What we never collect
- Your files or their contents — they never reach us.
- Accounts, passwords, or profiles — none exist on this site.
- Tracking cookies of our own — we set none beyond what Google Analytics and Google AdSense use for usage measurement and advertising, as described above.
- Payment data — no payments are taken on this site today.
