Resizing without the usual mistakes
Two things ruin most resized images: stretched proportions and accidental quality loss. This tool avoids both — platform presets crop to the exact target ratio from the center (no squashing), and the custom tool keeps your aspect ratio locked unless you choose otherwise. Output quality stays high and the before/after sizes are always shown.
If your real goal is a file-size limit rather than pixel dimensions, you want the compressor instead — or run both: resize to the stated pixels here, then compress to the stated KB.

Numbers that come up constantly: 1280×720 (YouTube thumbnail), 1080×1080 (Instagram post), 1080×1920 (stories and reels covers), 400×400 (profile avatars), 1584×396 (LinkedIn banner), 600×600 (US passport photo at 300 DPI), 200×230 (the photo field on many application portals), 140×60 (signature fields).

No. Preset pages crop centered to the exact target ratio, and the custom tool keeps your aspect ratio locked by default — enter just a width and the height follows automatically. Nothing gets stretched or squashed.
Can I enlarge a small image?
Yes, up to 8000px on the long side — but upscaling can’t invent detail, so expect softness when enlarging a lot. For meeting a KB file-size minimum specifically, the dedicated increase-size tool handles quality and encoding better.
Is the image uploaded during resizing?
No — like every KBWise tool, resizing runs entirely in your browser.
What happens to the parts cropped away by a preset?
Preset pages crop from the center to hit the exact target ratio, trimming the longer dimension evenly on both sides. Your original file stays untouched on your device — only the downloaded copy is cropped.
