Terms of Use
Plain language, no traps. Here’s the deal when you use KBWise.
Last updated: June 2026
The service
KBWise provides free, browser-based utilities for compressing, resizing, and converting images and PDFs. The tools run on your device; your files are not transmitted to us. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose.
Your responsibility for results
The tools show you the result (size, dimensions, quality preview) before you use it anywhere. Check that the output meets your requirements before submitting it to portals, applications, or printers. We are not responsible for rejected applications, missed deadlines, or losses arising from use of generated files — among other reasons, because portals change their rules and we never see your files or their requirements.
Acceptable use
Use the tools for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. Don’t attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it abusively, or use it to process content you have no right to process. The honest-increase tool exists to meet legitimate minimum-size requirements with real image data — using any tool to misrepresent or falsify documents is on you, not us.
Intellectual property
Your files are yours — we claim no rights whatsoever over anything you process (we never even receive it). The KBWise name, design, and site content are ours; the underlying open-source libraries belong to their authors under their respective licenses.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it — which, for the free tools, is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Material changes to how the tools handle your data would also appear in the privacy policy — including the core promise, which we don’t intend to ever change: your files stay on your device.
